Abstract

Background: Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory gynecological disorder characterized by severe dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic pain, and reduced quality of life. Despite conventional treatment options, many women continue to experience recurrent pain, prompting interest in complementary therapeutic approaches.

Case Presentation: A 46-year-old female with a confirmed diagnosis of endometriosis presented with severe cyclical pelvic pain during menstruation for the past 2–3 years. The pain significantly interfered with her daily activities and quality of life.

Intervention: The patient was prescribed Monk Hemp's Trailokya Vijaya Vati under the supervision of an Ayurvedic physician.

Outcome: The patient experienced marked symptomatic relief in pain intensity during the subsequent menstrual cycle, with improvement in daily functioning and overall well-being.

Conclusion: This case suggests that Monk Hemp's Trailokya Vijaya Vati may have a supportive role in the symptomatic management of endometriosis-associated dysmenorrhea. However, controlled clinical studies are necessary to establish its efficacy and safety.

Introduction

Endometriosis affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age and is one of the leading causes of chronic pelvic pain and severe dysmenorrhea. Persistent pain often results in impaired physical, emotional, and social well-being.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, the condition can be correlated with disorders involving Vata Dosha, particularly Apana Vata, associated with pain, obstruction, and inflammatory changes within the pelvic region. Ayurvedic management aims to restore doshic balance, reduce pain, and improve quality of life.

Discussion

Endometriosis is characterized by chronic inflammation, pelvic pain, and dysmenorrhea. Conventional treatment frequently includes analgesics and hormonal therapy, although symptom recurrence remains common.

Ayurveda attributes painful menstruation to aggravated Vata, particularly Apana Vata, leading to painful obstruction and impaired menstrual flow. The observed reduction in pain following administration of Monk Hemp's Trailokya Vijaya Vati indicates potential value as a supportive therapeutic option for symptom management. Nevertheless, conclusions regarding efficacy cannot be drawn from a single case, and larger prospective studies are warranted.

Conclusion

This case demonstrates a favorable clinical outcome in a 46-year-old woman with chronic endometriosis-associated dysmenorrhea following treatment with Monk Hemp's Trailokya Vijaya Vati. The patient experienced a clinically meaningful reduction in pain intensity and improvement in functional capacity.

While encouraging, these findings represent a single case observation and should be interpreted cautiously. Further randomized controlled studies are required to establish the efficacy and safety of this intervention.

Patient Perspective

"The patient reported substantial relief from menstrual pain and expressed satisfaction with the improvement in her ability to carry out routine activities during menstruation."
